Vaughan, E. Grace and A. O Hare, represented Scoil Mhuire recently and did us very proud in the Gael Linn Regional Finals of the Com\u00f3rtas D\u00edosp\u00f3ireacht an Phiarsaigh in Carrick on Shannon, Leitrim. They debated the motion \u2018Ba ch\u00f3ir cosc ioml\u00e1n a chur ar alc\u00f3l sa t\u00edr seo\u2019. Unfortunately they were unsuccessful in moving forward to the All Ireland Finals, being defeated by Loreto College Letterkenny. The team was assisted in their research by S. Corrigan and ably guided by teachers Lisa Harlin and Irene Heffernan<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_x_xmsonormal\"><b><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_x_xmsonormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">Com\u00f3rtas D\u00edosp\u00f3ireachta an Phiarsaigh is a debating competition for English Medium Post-Primary schools.<\/span><\/b><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\" lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"x_ContentPasted0\">The main aim of Gael Linn&#8217;s schools&#8217; debating competition is to promote the use of Irish in schools and among young people.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Senior Irish Debating Team, made up of C.
