The judges were impressed by the wearability of the outfit, the excellent sewing skills and the fact that the students used a 50-year-old vintage pattern from the collection in the Home Economics\u2019 sewing room.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"mark8i58snrh0 uM2yb\" data-markjs=\"true\">Congratulations<\/span> also to the following students whose wonderfully creative entries made it to the semi-finals of the competition-A Mc Vann, A McCabe, E O\u2019Neill, M Canny,\u00a0O Reilly, A N\u00ed Laoire, A Morton,\u00a0\u00c9 Moran, L Murphy and S Mohamed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Relove Fashion Competition encourages students to take a deeper look at how their clothing is made and challenges them to explore creative reuse options such as upcycling, repairs, alterations, and mending.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Home Economics Department choose the Relove Fashion competition for TY students this year in response to the growing environmental and social impacts of the Fast Fashion Industry and the need for change. All TY students are to be commended on how they fully embraced this project, sourcing preloved clothing and textiles from parents, grandparents and teachers.
