Scoil Mhuire – Irish Debating

         SENIOR TEAM

6th year girls make it to the Gael Linn Regional Irish debating finals. The Senior team of Tara Canny, Rose Higgins, Ruth Sherlock and Anna Murphy represented Scoil Mhuire at the regional finals in January where they debated ‘Annus Horibilus a bhí sa bhliain 2016’.

Despite a phenomenal performance they did not make it through to the finals. However, they really did their school and their teacher Ms Heffernan proud.

        JUNIOR TEAM

The Junior Debating Team progressed to the Gael Linn Regional Finals. They put in a great performance debating the motion “There is too much emphasis placed on academia within secondary schools in Ireland”. Unfortunately they did not make it to the All-Ireland finals but it was a great achievement reaching the Regional Finals. Well Done girls and thank you to their teacher Ms Harlin.
