On October 11th, 6 members of Student Council travelled to the Ardboyne Hotel in Navan to attend the annual youth conference for Meath secondary schools.
The aim of the event was to introduce Comhairle na nOg and elect two new members from school around Meath.
The day started off with an opening address from Meath County Council Cathaoirleach, Sarah Reilly, director of service for Meath County Council, Mr Des Foley and from Comhairle na nOg chairperson, Tara.
We did some icebreakers with people on our tables before we got a talk about what Comhairle na nOg is.
They talked about what they did in the past two years, showing us results from surveys they took showing the change.
We then did a topic discussion using the tablecloth. We wrote ideas for what problems we have, how we could fix it and what Comhairle could do to help.
Overall, the day was a huge success
