Dear Ms Maher,

Friday 29th May 2020 was stated in the school calendar as the date for the conclusion of formal classes in Scoil Mhuire for the school year 2019/20. Little did we as members of the Scoil Mhuire school community realise when we commenced the new school year last September what an extraordinary school year it was to become. The Board of Management would like to acknowledge all members of the Scoil Mhuire school community for the manner in which you have responded since the closure of the school for formal classes on 12th March last.

Much appreciation is due to students, school management, staff, and parents for your response to what became a really challenging situation for all concerned. A particular word of appreciation to our Leaving Certificate students who have completed their secondary schooling in circumstances that are totally unprecedented. We wish you good health and every fulfilment in whatever career and life choice you follow in the future. May the life and education experiences that you enjoyed in Scoil Mhuire support you and bless you in the future.

To all our other students we thank you for your support and cooperation over the past nine weeks and wish you a relaxing summer break and look forward to welcoming you back to Scoil Mhuire in August.

We commend our teachers for their effective engagement with the new circumstances since last March. Thank you for your creative, positive response and the wonderful support you have given to the students. The range and regularity of work and communications that have been shared between teachers and students is much appreciated and is so important not just from the point of view of teaching and learning, but also for the pastoral and social benefits that have arisen.

Thank you to the parents. We look forward to continuing our partnership with you as we work together to provide a quality educational experience for the students.

Much appreciation to you, Ms Kiernan and Ms Nulty for the leadership you have provided to all members of the school community. A special word of thanks to Ms Kiernan for her enormous contribution during her career in Scoil Mhuire and wish her every fulfilment in her retirement.

We acknowledge and appreciate the support and commitment of our support staff.

May God bless all members of the school community over the summer months. May everyone keep safe and well.

Please continue to adhere to the guidelines put in place at national level to safeguard all of us against the risks of the COVID 19 virus.

May our wonderful healthcare people and the support personnel keep safe and receive the cooperation of all of us as they lead the challenge to keep us well.

Ferdia Kelly – Chairperson, Board of Management, Scoil Mhuire, Trim.
