The inaugural Scoil Mhuire book club trip took place today in Dublin with the first stop to the Dublin Cultural and Heritage Centre for a guided tour of the Seamus Heaney exhibition, where students were brought through the life of Seamus Heaney and the influence of his childhood, teenage experiences in Ireland on his writing styles.

This was followed by a trip through Trinity College for a lunch stopover in the Arts building, a welcome break before heading to the National Library of Ireland where students got to walk through the immersive exhibition experience of W.B Yeats, his life, work and influence on the literary world. After both exhibitions, students headed to Hodges Figgis Book Shop on Dawson street and then onto Dubray Book Shop on Grafton street for lots of book shopping.  Mr Maguire was accompanied by Ms Kane and our new French assistant Emma.

The school book club meets every Monday at lunch and has members from 1st- 6th year. New members are always welcome to come along.
