Scoil Mhuire’s Senior Football team have reached the Leinster Senior A Final for the first time in the school’s history. This is an incredible achievement for this strong panel of girls and their coaches Ms M. Guinan, Ms F. Nugent and Ms C. Doyle. Scoil Mhuire is has always been renowned for it’s success on the sporting field, not only in GAA. Indeed, this is not the first time the school has enjoyed success in Leinster. After winning the Senior Leinster B title last year, the school was promoted to division A.

In the group stages, the school’s senior team came up against some tough opposition, but enjoyed wins over Scoil Críost Rí Portlaoise, Loreto Wexford, Loreto Navan and a draw match with Moate Community School. The team will now face a fellow Meath school, Loreto Navan, in the final.

Speaking in the school during the week, coach Michelle Guinan praised the team for their dedication and commitment throughout this year. “These students have fought hard to be in this final and deserve all the success that hopefully will come their way. We are all so proud of them and looking forward to the challenge ahead”.
