Our 1st and 2nd yr basketball teams had a tough quarter-final blitz on Wednesday 26th March. First up for both teams was a well drilled Sacred Heart Drogheda team. 1st years had a tough first half but they worked hard to contain their experienced team. Final score was 30-10. Top scorers were S.O’Connor and G.Clarke. 2nd yrs were closely matched with Sacred Heart but the opposition outscored them in the final quarter. Top scorers were C.Swords and R.Tully. Final score 26-18.
Next up were St.Olivers, Oldcastle. Both teams performed well. 1st yrs finished up 27-11 winners. Top scorers were S.O’Connor and U.Mitchell. 2nd yrs again found scoring difficult but they performed very well and won 21-11. Top scorer was C.Swords.
