We are delighted to introduce Leaving Certificate Physical Education as an exam subject this year. We currently have two classes taking the subject. There is a blend of theory and practical classes, where students cover two strands which are titled “Towards Optimum Performance” and “Contemporary Issues in Physical Activity”. In these, students explore topics such as nutrition, biomechanics, training methodology, gender and inclusion in physical activity, the role media plays in sport and many other interesting issues. The subject is assessed with a written exam worth 50% and the other 50% for two separate video projects based around their performance in a sport and designing and implementing training methodologies
