The North Leinster Schools’ Cross Country took place on Friday 26th January in the Phoenix Park. 23 students from Scoil Mhuire competed in the Minor, Junior, Inter and Senior races 🏃🏻♀️🏁 The North Leinster’s Championship is always a tough competition as athletes from over 20 secondary schools from across North Leinster take part and try to qualify for the Leinster Championships.

Scoil Mhuire had 3 girls in the first 15 in each of their races and qualified as individuals in their own category:
A. O’Shea was 14th in the Minor race out of 150 athletes. This was her first time running for the school and in the North Leinster’s. K. Larkin was 15th in the Inter race out of 113 athletes, and R. Larkin was 15th in the Senior race out of 34 in her race. This was a great achievement for the 3 girls to qualify for the Leinster’s.
There were 4 Minor teams and they were placed 4th, 16th, 25th and 32nd out of 37 teams. The Junior team was 27th place out of 37 teams and the Inter teams were 4th place and 14th place out of 27 teams. Unfortunately the teams did not qualify for the Leinster Championships.
