Congratulations to the Senior Soccer team on winning the Leinster Shield yesterday, beating St. Mary’s Naas 4-3 in a compelling final. First-half goals from G. Nolan, A. Carroll, and A. Hegarthy gave Scoil Mhuire a healthy lead at halftime. Naas pulled two back before E. Murray scored a fourth for Scoil Mhuire, who, despite conceding again late on, were delighted to lift the trophy, which was presented to them by representatives from the FAI in front of lots of supporters. The girls deservedly end the season on a high with winners’ medals, having put in lots of hard work. This year, both the junior and senior teams represented the school in the premier divisions. Both were narrowly beaten in the league semi-final, and while the seniors were successful in their shield, the juniors were beaten in their semi-final. A big well-done to them all for competing at the top end of schools in the country and for progressing so far
