It was with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of Dorothy Leahy, a very dear and valued member of our school community. Dorothy was a highly respected teacher of History, Geography and CSPE since 1992.
Loved by all her students, Dorothy’s classroom was a place of calm, where her students learned joyfully in an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation. The kindness and compassion shown to her students over the years will not be forgotten.
As a colleague, Dorothy was kind and gentle and ever-generous with her time and knowledge. Her sense of fun and ready smile brought laughter to our staffroom on even the dullest of days. Her warmth and integrity, as well as her infectious laugh will live on in the corridors of Scoil Mhuire for many decades to come. May her beautiful soul rest in peace.
