Yesterday the TY Discovery Science class travelled down to the University of Limerick to participate in the SOPHia Physics Poster Competition. The judges were overall very impressed by the standard of the work and the presentations the students gave.
The girls who came first place in the poster competition yesterday were L. De La Fuente Vargas, E. Gallego Martinez and P. Castillo Gayo.
Third place went to A. Grace, R. Nevin, C. Ward and A. Carey for their project on the Physics of Hair.
Highly commended went to E. Corless and C. Egan for their poster on How UV rays affect the skin, and also M. Burns and F. Burns for their project on How MRI machines work
