On Friday, March 10th, in an event marking International  Women’s Day, the 6th year students heard from 3 past pupils about life after the Leaving Cert. The past pupils in question were Roisin Fahey, currently studying Engineering in Trinity College Dublin, Shauna Ennis, captain of the Meath Ladies Senior Football team who teaches in KIlcloon National School and Elaine Loughlin, Deputy Political Editor with the Irish Examiner.

The speakers were introduced in turn by current 6th year students Marnie Gilroy, Etain McCarthy and Sarah Caulfield. All 3 speakers proved inspirational, providing a variety of perspectives on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead – be it through college, team sport or becoming politically aware and active. This event was being held as part of Wellbeing Week 2023. Afterwards, the students had an opportunity to relax and catch up with their classmates over a cuppa. Refreshments were provided by the 5th year Wellbeing team, ably led by Ms Geraldine Morris and Inion Ni Anluain.

Funding for the event was again provided through Drogheda Credit Union, with Ms Suzanne Gilleece, Branch Manager and herself a past pupil providing support. We are very grateful for Drogheda Credit Union’s assistance in running this year’s event, which proved to be hugely enjoyable for students and staff in attendance.
