On Wednesday 26th of May, Scoil Mhuire Student Council held a charity shop fundraiser for St. Vincent de Paul, raising €170.70 and compiling several bags of donations for this year’s chosen local charity.

We gathered donations from students, receiving items like clothes, accessories, books and other forms of bric-a-brac. We took these donations, along with items donated to us by Michael Murray, manager of SVP Trim, and organised, priced and displayed them, ready for purchase. We displayed these items on stalls made with the

help of Ms. Ní Anluain and her helpers L. Liepini, R. O’Neill and N. Keogh.

The shop opened at lunchtime on Wednesday the 26th in the gym, with the till being operated by A. Kennedy, M. Forkin and M. Burns, who were kept very busy! It was an instant success, with many staff and students coming into the gym to browse the many items available for sale. Once lunch was over and the cash was counted, we raised €170.70 for SVP, with every item not sold to be donated to SVP Trim.

This couldn’t have been achieved without the help of Michael Murran, Ms. Ní Anluain and her helpers, and finally, staff and students for their endless support donating items and buying from the shop. Thank you to all involved for your immense help.
